As part of the October feature "Where to Live and Play Now," Red River was named one of the "Best Places to Live" in National Geographic Adventure magazine.  Chosen for its scenery, access to outdoor adventure, and affordability, the magazine calls Red River "an ideal recessionary hideout." Mardi Gras in the Mountains

The Krewe de Colores would like to thank everyone who helped make the Children's Mardi Gras Ball a colorful success.

The Ball was sponsored by the Red River Chamber of Commerce, Red River Real Estate owned by Richard and Vicki Swigart, local Real Estate agent Leslie Yow, River Street Bed and Breakfast owned by Chris and Susie Gosain, Best Western River's End owned by Courtney and Sidney Henderson, and Latigo Mechanical Plumbing and Heating owned by Bill Donnithorne and Linnette Ramirez.

Thank you to Black Mountain Playhouse for the amazing facilities and decorations, Fritti and the Fat Tuesday Band for keeping all of our young guests moving with their awesome cajun music, and Capos Corner Ristorante Italiano for donating the delicious pizzas that helped keep the children's strength up for all the fun and festivities.

Special thanks to the members of every Krewe who came and showed their support for the Children's Ball. Of course a very special thanks goes to all the children and families who participated. They are truly the ones who make any event great.

Thank you all again

Krewe de Colores
